I'm currently in San Cristobal wishing I'd brought a Bluetooth keyboard for typing out on this kindle fire using as its pretty bad for tapping on.  Oh well first world problems eh. Starting in Cancun I worked my way to Bacalar as I had to visit the Mexican Aduana at the border with Guatemala, then to Calakmul and Pelenque Mayan Ruins before heading off the flat hot sea level plain into the (far too cool) hills of San Chi's (2000m elevation). Here's a few snaps so far: Playa Blanca, just a short half hr ride north of Cancun. On the road in Yucatan... Long straight roads, pretty dull and hot as hell.. Bacalar where I stayed at the lovely Casa Carolina (run by a bastante loco German biker) Camping in Valladolid, I actually slept here in my hammock and put my kit in the tent. The mighty Chichen It Za.. The incredibly beautiful Cenote Oxman at Valladolid.. I got to sit for the last hour of opening in the water alone with the nibbling me and the

Well then, heres the bike all packed up for Stage 2. This lot should see me through jungles, deserts, beaches and high altitude mountain terrain, rain or shine.  Although, truth be told, I much prefer shine! I imagine the weight to be about 35kg, and I have the following: Kriega Overlander 30 (15l each side) panniers on the back. The Two 40l Lomo bags on the back seat (yellow) and the rack (black). Held down with rock straps on one and some straps on the other (not the ratchet type - the one with just teeth?). The 3l bladder (in the red neoprene bag) bungied on the yellow bag. My trusty arse saving Alpaca fur on the seat (actually now stuffed with a car wash mitt too).  Tank saddlebags (self made) - I bought these two ´´motorcycle leg bags´´ off ebay and just put them together, changing the straps a little to take out the elastic they originally had.   Everything is working well so far.  Ive got 110 litres altogether, although im not packed out entirely. Well, the adventure begins once more. Its been about ten days since I flew out to Cancun, Mexico from Manchester, UK and I've had a few mishaps and wins already! Here's a quick update so far: 1\ Bike required some revival after a year of being in storage, having rode it for some time after jumping it, the battery was not holding charge so I went and bought a new one and the bike was good as new. After a service and the fitting of a new chain set, sorti g out a new luggage system and fitting a new USB chargerI'd brought from the UKwe were ready to. There was, however some drama with missing\stolen lock up keys & bike keys & my leather man multitool - this eventually sorted itself out with me having the lock up\garage locks grinded off an getting a new set of bike keys cut. 2\ Have been beaching at Playa de los Ninos, Cancun, Island Mujeres, Island Blanca & right now in beautiful Bacalar. Adjusting to the heat and browning my body is a must! This has p
